settling in Dallas?

When we decided to move to Texas, we were presented with many choices for us to move.  Texas is a big state and Dallas Homes for Sale really sparked our interest.  We had many decisions to make on our move and we really didn’t have much time to do it.  We needed to get on with our move because my husband’s job wasn’t going as good as it could because of the economy in Denver and our daughter's health depended on it too.

There are so many cool places to move to in Texas. Dallas Real Estate turned out to be a good market with so many great choices in homes.  Homes were a lot cheaper there and is seems to have a great job market.  There are also so many things to do and see in the area of Texas and it is also within 10 hours drive of our friends in Colorado.

Where ever we decide to settle, you can bet Dallas is one of the places we can consider.  There are plenty of Dallas Homes For Sale which will make our finding a home that suits us easier.  We are so excited to have many choices in our future and we would always look to God to make the right choices.  Maybe Dallas will be our new permanent home where we will finally settle.

sicky, sicky me :(

Oh, I am sick and I don't like it!  I got the virus from my own daughter who had colds.  The good thing is she is feeling better that she can go back to school tomorrow.  Yeah, she missed out school for two days.  It was only a simple cold but when my daughter gets it, it is so hard for her since she has lung problem.  Boy, you should see her in her coughing fits!  You can't help but get worried especially when she turns blue from coughing.  Thanks to God, she passed through it without her oxygen level going down.  Still, we had to see her doctor yesterday just to be sure she doesn't have any infection.  Whooaaahhhh!

Now, I've got it!  I have never been sick except now.  I really have to take vitamins everyday like I used to.  Ugh, I hope to feel better soonest so I can get on with my walking/running in the park with Mitzi; and yes, with the unending house chores, too.  Anyways, I wish you all well and healthy.  Have a good one!

on to house wares' shopping

We have been holding out buying kitchen stuffs like pots and pans for years now.  We had been relocation from one state to another and from one rental home to another.  Hubby and I kind of agree that we won't  buy house wares until we are settled.

As you have all been aware that we just moved recently to another new rental home and we really like it.  Not only because we like the lay out and the backyard of this house, but the fact that it's near hubby's work and just a walking distance to my daughter's school make this house dearer to us.  In fact, we are thinking of buying this house when we are able to.  That's why it's house wares' shopping time!

I really have been planning to buy wine glasses since I sometimes like Chardonnay and Red Wine on special occasions.  Well, not that I would buy a lot, just a couple for me and for guests since hubby doesn't drink alcohol.  I also have been itching to buy one of the nicest steamers for I really want to learn how to make rice cake and meat buns one of these days.  I just can't wait and I hope I can get some of the kitchen stuff that I need pretty soon.  Have a good one all!

Nancy Nacy Nacy

Written by my friend Betty Walls.

My favorite news program is Nancy Grace on Fox News. I am not a huge hard core right wing republican but, I do watch the program from time to time. She always has some kooky stories on and occasionally she has the real things that are happening in the world. I remember when Natalee Holloway went missing, I think she spent 2 years relentlessly following the story minus the developments. So, when Joan Van der Sloot killed another girl in Peru, she went nuts! She has had psychics and so many odd people on the show to "clarify" or supply additional information for her public. She is the queen of over dramatic.

During the election for president in 2008, she was very open minded and kept a consistent and unbiased view point. It was clear who she wanted to win but, she kept her cool. She presented people from both sides of the argument while I watched her on my tvbydirect. That is why I like her show so much. She provides current and serious news stories but, she also mixes in the old and crazy stuff. She really gets into interviews too with that voice of hers. Its so loud! I wonder is she is as loud in real life as she is on TV. Nancy Grace is out there but, she's good.

excited for hubby's new bike

I have finally persuaded my husband to get himself a bicycle so he can bike while I run/walk along the trails of  Phil Hardberger Park during weekends.  He can also use it to go to work since we live near his work.  It would be healthier for him.  We got him a fire engine red Schwinn bicycle and it looks so grand.  I will show post a picture of it here in my blog as soon as I can.  We also grabbed some accessories like helmet, Schwinn drinking bottle, etc.  I also was able to get him to buy a new pair of sneakers.

Hubby seems so excited with his new bike, I tell ya!  As soon as we got home tonight, he got busy with it and get it all set for it first voyage tomorrow.  I just can't help to feel happy and excited for him.  I can't wait for tomorrow.  Okay, bid you all a wonderful night.  I hope you all have an awesome weekend so far!  Take care you all!

Groceries, Same Time Every Week

A guest post authored by Ernie Frederick.

When I go to the grocery store to go shopping it's is almost a major event. Besides clipping my coupons, checking out sales and compiling my grocery list, my real rush from shopping for food is the meals I get to make that week. I tend to go grocery shopping in the morning, when the fruit and bread is fresh and more importantly no long lines! Before I leave the house with my list in hand and debit card in my pocket, I always make sure to put my dog in his cage and set my home security alarmfrom www.home-alarm-system.com. Typically at the store, besides checking out the sales, I always get the basics like bread, eggs and milk, then go from there with my other items. Since I shop every week, I don't have a need to buy a lot of food at one time, plus with my coupons I save tons of money. After it's all said and done when I come home and after putting my new purchases away I sit back and think about all of the meals I get to make for the week and start on my list for next for another round of shopping.

tee time at the beach!

My husband has been at his new job for one year now and he will be getting his vacation time soon.  It has been a long time since we have been on a vacation because of all our daughter's health issues and our moving to a new state and settling.  It’s time for our Myrtle Beach golf packages to be planned out so we can be on our way soon to our dream vacation.

At  http://www.myrtlebeachgolf.net, I found some of the perfect packages for us as a family to enjoy.  Our daughter is 5 now and we want to make sure whatever kind of vacation we take will be good for her, too.  She needs to feel included in all the fun, too.  There are beaches fun parks and all the cool pools at the hotels to enjoy. I’m pretty sure we can find a good balance between our Myrtle Beach golf courses and all the fun play time for our daughter, too.

With so many things to do, we will be able to have nice walks on the beach, swimming, biking and of course, our favorite thing, golfing.  I know we are new to golf but we have found it to be a great sport for me and my husband.  They even have put miniature golf courses there for families there and we can teach our daughter the fun of that so she can enjoy part of our hobby, too.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Filipino food galore

I had lots of fun yesterday.  Mitzi ( my new-found friend) and I did our usual more than 5 mile walk/run at Phil Hardberger Park after we dropped our little girls at school yesterday morning.  After our walk/run, we cooked Filipino food for our lunch.  We had fried dried fish, broiled and fried eggplant with eggs, fried sardines with tomatoes, onions and eggs, and lots of rice.  Yummy-O!  Made our tummies happy and full!

We were laughing because our exercise that morning went to the drain.  Still, it made us so happy.  We come to a decision that we really have to up our walk/run in the park everyday if we keep eating like this, hehehe.  I just can't wait to get started this Monday.  Have a good one all!

to harvest rain?

Here in San Antonio, it seems that the rainy season left us a long time ago.  It hasn’t rained but briefly lately.  When it does rain we always wonder what we can do to catch the rain water before it just runs down the yard and street and away.  It would be really cool to trap some in rain water barrels so when the grass is that dry, we would have some extra water to put down even in the flower beds.

Rain harvesting isn’t a new concept.  It has been most people’s choice just to use water from the faucet to water the flowers and grass.  It has become evident that the price of watering has gone up dramatically especially because water is becoming a shortage lately.  Rain barrels under each gutter from the house would give us a few hundred natural gallons of water to water the flower beds.

Soon if and when it rains again, we can be one of the lucky ones to collect the extra rain water and we can soak our flowers a little each day instead of watching all that water just go down the storm drain, lost forever.  We will just have to pray that it will rain and rain a lot so we can have a good soaking and the extra water to carry us through to the next time when we can use all that free water in our rain barrels.

for my husband's body aches and pains

With my husband’s work comes a lot of strain on his body, sometimes he comes home with a hurting back or his legs have cramps and even his shoulder at times keeps him up all night long.  I’ve have always wondered if it’s worth the troubles he is accumulating with all the problems that will come from standing all days on a concrete floor pulling and pushing on tools.  I’ve heard of these tools used in the medical profession like Muscle Stimulators that will exercise the muscles to help and support certain areas of the body so they can heal.

A really long time ago my husband had a back injury and he said part of the therapy was a Muscle Stimulator and TENS Units and they would put the leads on his lower back and it would provide an electrical pulse to exercise the muscles in the injured area.   Wouldn’t it be great if he could get help now?  With today’s technology I’m sure there are better units that do a better job at rehabilitation.

I looked into it and for sure there are better tools today like the LG-TEC Dual Combo TENS Unit and Muscle Stimulator.  When my husband has issues with muscles injuries he can go to the doctors and get quality help for his aches and pains.  The best thing to happen is maybe in the future he can find easier work so he won’t have to worry as much about having to go to the doctors for the aches and pains that come along with his type of work.
