the drive to learn how to drive

I just got my notice as to when will I take my Oath as a naturalized citizen of the United States of America.  Whoooaahhhh!  So glad about it so I can be on to the next step which is getting an instruction's permit here in Texas so I can get on with my driving lesson.  Geez, I have been here for more than 5 years and I still don't know how to drive.  Goodness gracious!

Well, that would be the next step for me.  The fact that my girl will be in school this year gives me that drive to learn how to drive, LOL.  What exasperates me is the Texas Driving Handbook is so complicated and so long.  Imagine, more than a hundred pages.  Unlike the one in Colorado where it is so simple and just made of less than 30 pages.  I wish the Texan government will make its driver's handbook more simple and easier to understand.  Oh well, there is nothing I can do about it but to just get on with it for I really need to drive.

Whew, LIFE in the US of A!

on Need You Now by Lady Antebellum



Click the image and you will hear one of my favorite songs right now.  I just love the way the third member play piano chords.  It makes me want to learn piano chords right now.  The title of the song is Need You Now by Lady Antebellum.  I consider this song as timeless and I hope you will agree with me.  It caught me the moment I heard it on our car's XM radio months ago.

My girl and I love it so much that we always play it here in my laptop.  Every time I play this song, my little girl would immediate get her toy piano so she can play piano along with the song.  Hubby and I hope that we can get her a playing piano chords lesson soon.  We know how she is into music right now.  She loves to sing along with all the songs she can hear and one of her favorites right now is Need You Now.  So, imagine me and my girl singing along with Lady Antebellum right now.  Have a good one all!

shopping on Valentines Day




Look at the people in line at Coach Outlet on Valentines Day! They had to close the store because it was packed. Hubby and I were like, oh my goodness! It seemed like a bomb went off inside the store. Sheesh!  Good thing that we were done there before they decided to close the store or you could have seen us among those people in line.  Goodness gracious!

I only got a wallet there that day as part of hubby's Valentines gifts for me.  I am so happy that finally I have a black Coach wallet.  The store had a huge sale that day so it's no wonder people flocked that day.  You should see the ladies carrying two or three purses inside the store that day.  Whoooaaa!  I have never seen anything like that before so I find it so funny, interesting and worth telling to all of you.  Have a good one guys!

our Dallas road trip

We went to Dallas recently for my husband to go to school to update his training at his work.  Of course, my husband found a way for us to go with him so we wouldn’t be alone in town.  It didn’t matter to me if I was stuck in a hotel or not as long as I was able to go.  Moving here in San Antonio recently has left me uneasy, especially when he has to go out of town and leave me and my girl at home. We of course were able to make arrangements which allowed us to drive our new Chevrolet Silverado.

We were on our way and it was a good day and when we started to get near Dallas, the skies got very dark there. Big lightning and rain was on the horizon and how thankful I was we had our truck for any high waters we would encounter. Who was to know we would have trouble with our brakes on our truck. When it rained we found out that when we started driving in the water our brakes made an awful noise and soon they were pulsating when we would come to a stop. Oh my now what, I wondered. We would have to look for a Dallas auto repair shop while we were here and get my husband’s training done at the same time? Well, that’s what happened. When he was finished with his training we immediately set out to find a Repair Pal to help us with our needs.

After they looked at the truck we found out there was a defect in the braking that required a brake job to be done on the front brakes.  They were prompt with their repairs and made us feel good we were not to have any additional problems with our brakes.  We were back on the road and the trip turned out to be not only adventurous but a good one too.  Dallas was a cool place to see and hopefully someday we can return there to check it out better.  As to when?  That is the big question!

pressure washers for spring cleaning

Spring time is almost here already. Living here in San Antonio there isn’t much winter time as compared to in Colorado where we are from.  Only thing is that there is a lot of humidity here and it has collected all the dirt and grime on our cars, and the outside of our home here.  What we really need for a number of our cleaning needs is a good selection of pressure washers to choose from.  I know my husband has really wanted to get one to add to his World of Power tools.

Searching online, I’ve come across a great selection nilfisk pressure washers that will clearly do the job.  We have spent so much money at car washes and detail shops cleaning our cars and areas around the home.  I also know that nilfisk electric pressure washers are very reliable and easy to use. With an investment in a tool like this, we want to make sure we get quality and I believe we have found it.

It will be so nice watching hubby with his new toy cleaning the cars and the driveway, while he is actually getting the things he needs done and enjoying himself at the same time.  I do know he has been wanting a pressure washer for a long time; and I’m thinking now is the time for such an investment to help us get the things done quickly, so we can have more free time for ourselves at the same time.

Godiva, a pure dark chocolate bliss



I just discovered this pure dark chocolate bliss today.  I have seen this kind of chocolate in the stores but because of the price, I always refrained myself from buying it.  What's so funny is that hubby just handed this box of Godiva to me as part of his Valentines gift for me, the exact box of Godiva that I just handed to him as part of his Valentines gift from me.  It was so hilarious and we can't help but laughed out loud on this incident.

This is actually the best tasting chocolate I have ever tasted in my life.  It is indeed legendary that as you take a bite, you will embrace the moment as you let the intensity of the flavors slowly unfold in your mouth.  It is a bit pricey but hey, it's Valentines Day, right!  I should say that our sweethearts deserve sweet treats.  YUM!

Hooray for the New Orlean's Saints!

Hep – Hep Hooray!  Yeah, the New Orleans Saints beats Indianapolis Colts on the XLIV Super Bowl.  Woohoo!!!  It was a very thrilling great game.  Hubby and I were really rooting for this team especially that they are considered as underdogs.  Congratulations!  Way to go guys!!!

Cheers to LIFE!

Cheers to LIFE!  That’s me and my margarita drink on my birthday dinner last night at Maggiano’s.  That place is awesome – delicious food, warm ambiance and superb service.  You should check out that eating place, guys.  It is just a very commendable place especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.  It might be a little too pricey for us (in our standards) but the experience was so amazing.  It was all worth it!  We love it and we will be back there for sure.

I am just right here and basking in all the Blessings that He has continually bestowed on me –

As each day comes to us refreshed and anew,

so does my gratitude renew itself daily.

The breaking of the sun over the horizon

just grateful at 38!

How was your weekend, guys?  Ours wasn't bad at all.  I admit that I felt bad Saturday morning on finding out an undesirable news from back home.  Hubby and I was so devastated with the news but we can't do anything about it.  It has happened, we just have to accept it and move on, right?

So to cheer me up, hubby suggested for us to go out to the mall.  We went to North Star Mall and checked out Saks Fifth Avenue for I would really like to check out some of my dream purses there.  I wasn't really expecting anything since hubby got me a red Gucci purse already last month; and it was supposed to be a gift for three occasions - wedding anniversary, birthday and valentines day.  So, I was truly surprised when hubby offered me a Burberry purse for my birthday.  I was like:  "You're kidding, right?"

We checked out the Burberry section and I didn't find anything that  totally captured me that day.  Gee, you should see the other brands there, they are so fabulous with a very sinful price.  We hopped from one brand to another; and then hopped back from one brand to another until I am fixed on this one -



Yeah, I can't believe it and up to this moment, I am still and truly reveling over it!  Thank you, hubbypie for the birthday gift and for always fulfilling my dreams.  You're the man!  And thank you, Lord for everything.
